Got Cracky Heels?

I hate having dry cracky heels. From the way they look, to the discomfort it brings when the heel cracks are deep and seem to be getting worse. Especially once summer time and flip flop season comes around it seems like my heels are more noticeably cracky. #NoThankYou. Unlike my spouse, I was not blessed with naturally smooth and moisturizer heels, so for those of you who know what I’m talking about, here are 3 things I do before bed to try to beat the cracked heels.

  1.  Soak feet in warm or hot water for 15-20 minutes. Until toes are turned to cute little raisins.
  2.  Scrub heels with a pumice stone. You are basically sanding off the dry dead skin. It may tickle, but be sure to do a thorough scrub. After pumice stone scrubbing, wash off with soap and water.
  3. Moisturize and wear socks overnight. You have a few options in choosing your heel moisturizer. If you have a personal favorite lotion, you can use that or try out a few of these options I like: Vaseline, olive oil, or Epoch Nu Skin “sole solution” foot treatment. It is listed online anywhere from $13-15.00. I have the 4.2 oz tube and honestly a little bit goes a long way.  I really like it.

When you wake up in the morning you will feel a noticeable difference in the smoothness of your heels. Repeat steps over the next 4 nights, then do on an as needed basis.
