Tips to remember when purchasing athletic shoes for Basketball, Tennis, and Volleyball
Most common injuries to occur when participating in basketball, tennis, and volleyball are sprains, stress fractures, and Achilles tendinitis. So when you are at the sporting goods store overwhelmed with the options and varieties of athletic shoes for your sport, remember the following three tips to help narrow your search. Your conscious choice in footwear will enhance your performance, and propel your efforts to avoid injury. Three things that say it’s the right shoe for you are as followed:
- Soles that are thick and stiff lessen impact and provide support. Footwear that provides this will support when landing jumps or running.
- Basketball specific, high tops are the way to go. Search out shoes that are constructed with high ankle support that reinforces the ankle whenever a change of direction is made quickly.
- Volleyball specific, select a sole that is more responsive to fast stops and starts. Less midsole support.
